cant see him playing on crutches so thats really gonna upset the balance
of the side
how do they replace him with, probably cox, but that means we will have
only 3
seamers and bash + root. cant see them leaving out bash for old trafford
in august,
so curran may get another recall.

only other thing is to bring in another debutant all rounder like
Higgins but hes
probably not their type of player.

Another option would be to move up Smith to 6 and Woakes to 7 and play
another seamer, but that would leave a rather long tail.

yep and they will have a new captain pope. Lets hope SL are as weak as
the experts say, but they have some decent batters and bowlers. I
assume theyll be stronger than windies. I didnt realise silverwood had
just resigned about a month ago.

theyve now confirmed its torn, so i spose it means a layoff for 2-3
months
at least, so hes gonna miss the mini ashes and pakistan series as well.
I think they should use these games to test out someone else to act
as allrounder, or a number of players to see if theyre up to it so
they have a backup and a future replacement as i expect his career
wont last like broad and anderson. He'll probably retire after the next
ashes anyway, whatever the result.

Apparently England are clinging to the hope that he might be fit for
Pakistan, but it must be touch and go.

There doesn't seem to be an obvious replacement ATM. The closest is
probably Sam Curran.

No, with the huge amount of effort he puts into every game I can't see
him lasting as long as those two.

Agreed.

yes i thought so too, but as they havnt yet added anyone to the squad,
the word on the net is that Lawrence will open, Cox will replace Stokes
at 6.
the alternative is that they play Woakes at 7 leaving room for another
bowler.
Potts looks to be back to his best after injury, saw he bowl a perfect
87mph
yorker in the 100. But I dont understand Dan as opener. Surely it would
be
more sensible to have Cox replace crawley since hes opened many times
for Kent
and Dan at 6?

Assuming Cox plays, then you would think so.
