So both white ball squads announced for september, some interesting
picks, but i'm a bit surprised smith doesnt make both teams. I've never
seen bethel or mousley play but clearly the selectors are looking for a
successor to Moeen. Clearly they must be impressed by Hull as he makes
both teams as does John Turner who has a very similar action to Carse, a
sort of goose step approach in their final stride like Dilley. Mahmood
and Carse both return, 1 after injury the other after a ban and Jordan
and Bairstow are dropped, but we'll see how many of these bowlers are
still fit by Sept 11 [fateful day!].

England T20 squad to play Australia: Jos Buttler (Lancashire, captain),
Jofra Archer (Sussex), Jacob Bethell (Warwickshire), Brydon Carse
(Durham), Jordan Cox (Essex), Sam Curran (Surrey), Josh Hull
(Leicestershire), Will Jacks (Surrey), Liam Livingstone (Lancashire),
Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire), Dan Mousley (Warwickshire), Adil Rashid
(Yorkshire), Phil Salt (Lancashire), Reece Topley (Surrey), John Turner
(Hampshire)

England ODI squad: Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson (Surrey),
Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook (Yorkshire), Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett
(Nottinghamshire), Josh Hull, Will Jacks, Matthew Potts (Durham), Adil
Rashid, Phil Salt, Jamie Smith (Surrey), Reece Topley, John Turner

They wanted to give those who played in the Test series a break. I think
the T20s begin the day after the last Test is scheduled to finish, so it
wouldn't really be feasible for anyone to play in both. As it is, Smith,
Duckett and Atkinson won't get much of a rest before the ODIs, though I
suppose they could sit out the first game or two.

<snip the rest, about which I've no comment>

McCullum appointed England white ball coach as well test team as Oz team
in edinburgh to play Scots.

Australia T20 squad: Mitchell Marsh (c), Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett,
Cooper Connolly, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Cameron
Green, Aaron Hardie, Josh Hazlewood (England games only), Travis Head,
Josh Inglis, Riley Meredith (Scotland games only), Marcus Stoinis, Adam
Zampa

Some new names there for us english, in particular Connolly, SLA who
made 90 in the SS Final, looks like a long haired version of Steve
Smith, and 1 of 7? west austalians, which prob reflects their dominance
down under.
