Steve Smith reappointed captain for oz tour of Sri Lanka. I think he has
captained several times since his ban ended, but isthis the first time
hes been appointed for a whole tour? I didnt realise he finished the
india series on 9999 runs, so with an av of 66 when hes batting as
captain, he must surely get to 10000 at Galle.

Australia Test squad for Sri Lanka: Steve Smith (capt), Sean Abbott,
Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cooper Connolly, Travis Head, Josh Inglis,
Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne,
Nathan Lyon, Nathan McSweeney, Todd Murphy, Mitchell Starc, Beau
Webster.

Allowing for fitness issues, the team looks at full strength. In
contrast to India's for the upcoming T20 series against England, where
they seem to have chosen to rest most of those who played in the Test
series against Australia, Bumrah's injured, but there's no Sharma,
Jaiswal, Gill, Kohli, Pant or Jadeja.

Cummins was always going to miss the tour because his wife is haviing
another baby
He also apparently has an ankle niggle so he might have been left out
due to that anyway, although it can't have been too bad with him
taking 6-117 in Melbourne and 5-81 in Sydney and bowling 87 overs in
the 2 tets

Sharma & Kohli retired from T20s after they won the world cup
Jadeja I think has been in and out of T20s for a while
I think Samson has displaced Pant for the time being, last year Samson
averaged 43 and struck at 180 with 3 100s while Pant averaged 11 and
they probably don't want to overload his leg
Gill looks
